Come on....is this some kind of joke??? Buddy's is widely recongnoized by pizza Connoisseurs and novices alike as the best pizza on the planet. This is the most absurd debate I have ever heard and find it completley disrespectful to even question Buddy's standing. The only places that come close are Louie's, Sheild's and Cloverleaf and that is because the people that opened these restaurants either worked at or owned a Buddy's at some point. People that vote for chain's such as Jet's are uninformed and are not worth wasting your breath talking too. These people will disgust any self respecting pizza eater. I'm not saying that I won't eat Jet's or even that its not good....What I am saying is don't compare your middle school quarterback to Tom Brady. Pizza should be ranked in this order.... Buddy's, Loui's, Mama Rosa's, Sheild's, Nikki's, Pizza Papolis, Cloverleaf, Tower, Green Lantern and Alibi. I will eat almost any pizza but these are the best of the best. By the way, the only acceptable topping to be inluded in your ranking is pepperoni. A Pizza consists of Dough, Sauce and cheese only!!! If you start putting Ham and Pineapple (The worst offense of all) on your pizza...it becomes a pizza no more.
I grew up with the first National Coney (maybe the second) at the end of my street at 7 and Mack. It was the best Coney then and has never been de-throwned. Obviously, I recognize Lafayette and American Coney as being at the top of the coney island summit and would rather eat at either of these places than National. However, for the pure taste of the food, nothing comes close National. I eat loose burgers, chili cheese fries and coney taco's only so that what my opinion is based off of. In fact, these items along with an actual coney dog, are the only items that should come into play when voting. However, recognizing that women also eat at coney islands....everyone has tried to copy the hani and have failed miserably.
