Beginning as mere sketches on a paper napkin, Deane Beman's dream of bringing Stadium Golf to the landscape was brought to fruition in 1980 with the opening of the TPC Sawgrass, home of THE PLAYERS Championship. During the last 23 years, golfers at the TPCs have played 10 million rounds of golf. In addition, TPCs have hosted more than 205 PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, and Nationwide Tour events, and are generally recognized by the golf industry and golfers alike as some of the finest golf courses in the country. TPCs have earned this reputation by consistently delivering a "high-quality, service-oriented golf experience." Since 1968, over 78 Golf World Business Magazine's "Top 100 Golf Shop Operations in America" awards have been won by TPCs. In addition, 18 TPCs have received certification in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program which recognizes environmental excellence.
