Located in a former 1920s gas station in Dearborn, this tiny, real Jewish deli adds to its throwback aura with a huge reproduction of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks as main decor. The great corned beef and crusty rye bread make it a favorite sandwich. Other items served include soups and brownies.
Wow what a super great little deli. I had the Ellen's Favorite which has hot corned beef, coleslaw, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on double baked sourdough rye bread which I had mine toasted. A mouth full of super flavor in each and every bite. I found out it's named after the great aunt who invented it. Also tried the open face turkey on bread and smothered with gravy with a side of real mashed taters Yummy. We tried two bowls of soup Broccoli, along with a cream of potato with bacon which is very good. Also had this most amazing cream cheese chocolate brownie which is sinfully delicious. We can't wait to return and try many more of this really nice deli's goods. A little off the beaten path of the west side of Dearborn. The service and cleanliness is really top notch.
